Camana Bay, Grand Cayman: Building upon the Cayman Islands’ reputation as a culinary destination in the Caribbean, the vibrant town of Camana Bay is emerging as a thriving epicurean hub on GrandCayman – boasting award-winning restaurants and specialty food stores, a popular weekly farmers’ market and a host of international food and wine events.

Now, adding a rich new experience to the offerings is West Indies Wine Company, a new tasting room and inspired shop; Mizu, an Asian-inspired bistro and bar; and The Waterfront, an urban diner serving up fresh, gastro-pub fare.

West Indies Wine Company, brings a fresh new perspective on wine to Grand Cayman. The first tasting room of its kind in the Caribbean engages guests with 80 different wines by the glass served via state-of-the-art Napa Technology Wine Stations, and a curated collection of interesting wines, beers, ciders, ales, spirits and accessories available for purchase.

Warm temperatures, prevailing sea breezes and spectacular views complement the store’s shaded outdoor seating area on The Paseo, Camana Bay’s pedestrian-friendly main street, where visitors can sit back with a glass of wine – or two – and savour the essence of pure relaxation in a tropical setting.

Mizu, a stylish Asian-inspired restaurant and bar, offers a fun new dining experience on Grand Cayman. Guests can watch chefs prepare imaginative creations using local seafood and produce at the open sushi bar, relax in the designer dining room or dine alfresco on the waterfront patio and discover modern Southeast Asian cuisine rarely found in the Caribbean.

The Waterfront introduces urban dining to the laid back tropics. Experience quick, feel-good food at an affordable price, American classics made using the freshest, local ingredients and warm hospitality – ideal for an intimate dinner date or a hearty breakfast on the water with the entire family.

“Camana Bay is blossoming into much more than just a town,” explains Ken Hydes, Vice President of Place Management & Experiences at Camana Bay. “It’s a destination where friends can gather to enjoy a fine wine; honeymooners can have a romantic dinner at one of the Town Centre restaurants or top the evening off with a quick nightcap and visitors can enjoy a night on the Town in a sophisticated atmosphere.”

With an eclectic mix of cuisines that transport diners around the world, innovative chefs who work with the freshest local ingredients and what seems like a different restaurant for every day of the week, it’s no wonder Grand Cayman is often referred to as the culinary capital of the Caribbean.
