Team Aruba Makes Longest Trek of the Season to Compete at IHRA Texas Nationals
By Tristan Ralston on 2nd April, 2016
SAN ANTONIO, Tx. (April 1, 2016): This weekend Team Aruba will compete at the IHRA Good Vibrations Texas Nationals fueled by Sunoco with their 2011 Aruba.com Pro Stock Mustang. The trip to San Antonio Raceway is the furthest on the IHRA tour for the team who begins each trip from the island paradise of Aruba. Team owner, Ven Eman, and pilot of the Aruba.com Mustang, Trevor Eman, first fly from Oranjestad, Aruba to Union, South Carolina before beginning the next leg of their trip, driving the “rolling billboard” that houses the race car to the event.
“This is definitely our longest trip,” Trevor Eman elaborated. “We drove over 18 hours to get to the track. Add the flight from Aruba, which is about 1700 miles, with the 1100 miles drive and it’s just about 3000 miles, one way, to get to this race.
“We are tired before even starting to race,” laughed Eman. “But we’re excited for another event and to continue our early season momentum. We know we have a great hot rod and a winning team. Hopefully everything comes together for us this weekend and we can put Aruba.com and Aruba Airport Authority N.V. in the winner’s circle.”
Qualifying begins today, Friday, April 1 at the Texas Nationals with two rounds of professional qualifying. A third qualifying session will be held Saturday morning before final eliminations begin Saturday afternoon.
