There is no better place to celebrate the culture and the people of the Turks and Caicos Islands than the Tourist Board’s weekly production of their Fish Fry every Thursday evening. This is not just any ordinary Fish Fry but an extravaganza of local music, talent, singing and dancing — showcasing the best that the Turks and Caicos islands have to offer.
The Fish Fry showcases local food vendors from the famous Hole In The Wall restaurant (our favorite for jerked chicken), to Smokey’s (try their lobster while it’s in season) as well as Crackpot Kitchen and other amazing local restaurants. Top it off with an ice cream cone from Island Scoop/Melt in their gorgeous pink ice cream truck located at the entrance of the event. You can’t attend the Fish Fry without trying Coco Vibes’ amazing ice-cold fresh coconut water; they chop off the top of the coconut and can insert some rum, throw in a straw and you have the makings of an excellent libation, although we are pretty sure you can’t have just one.
This is also the perfect spot to purchase gifts and souvenirs for your loved ones back home or even yourself. You can get everything from conch shell jewelry to locally made island dolls; or maybe buy an article of clothing or fabulous necklace or earrings from the artists themselves.
