Hit the beach for an exhilarating array of jet-skis, wave-runners and wet ‘n wild fun, or a spirited game of beach tennis or volleyball. Luxury catamarans are perfect for cruise, swim and snorkel excursions, with music, open bar and food. Aruba ranks high as a windsurfing destination with flat-water locations, challenging wave conditions, extensive shallows and constant winds. Year round, avid windsurfers skim across the sparkling sea while kite surfers dominate the horizon with their daring acrobatics.

Water Sports on Hadicurari Beach

Hadicurari Beach (also known as Fisherman’s Huts) out past Palm Beach is best for beginners while the windward coast attracts more experienced body boarders and surfers. Good visibility, shallow reefs, and captivating shipwrecks give divers an array of options. Most sites are on the southern, or leeward, coast. Reef, shore and wreck diving reveal a brilliant underwater panorama.

Diving in Aruba

Aruba is touted as the wreck-diving capital of the Caribbean with about twenty dive sites and a dozen diver-friendly wrecks. Reef, wreck and night diving can be arranged. For fun and adventure as well as catching your own seafood dinner, deep-sea fishing, on half and full-day excursions, go 5-7 miles offshore. Game fish catch includes sailfish, blue and white marlin, dorado, wahoo, shark, barracuda, kingfish, and tuna. Enjoy bottom fishing and reel-in snapper, grouper, triggerfish and squirrelfish.

Hiking & Trails

Arikok National Park is a natural preserve that covers about one-fifth of Aruba, home to a wealth of fascinating flora and fauna, the three geological formations that shaped the island, and fascinating historical sites. There are 29 miles of rocky hiking trails of different hiking levels.

Adventure Day Trips

Along the way, adventurers soak up otherworldly rock formations, Indian caves, and other natural phenomena. For a good workout, try the challenging climb up the Hooiberg. Thrill seekers can explore wild outback on a 4×4 Jeep safari, ATV or UTV, negotiating canyons and jagged rocks, dodging cacti while exploring the rugged beauty of the island’s interior and northern shore.

Cyclists and mountain bikers will encounter strong whipping wind, rugged, hilly and rocky terrain inland and along the wild coast. For milder rides, bikes and scooters are available for rental in tourist areas at bikeshares and shops. While horseback riding near the hotels is scenic and sociable, rides along the windward coast are best left to seasoned equestrians.

Golf Courses

Aruba’s golf courses can be more than challenging with trade winds and tropical sun. Tierra del Sol is a championship 18 hole desert golf course with panoramic sea views.

The Links at Divi Aruba, a nine-hole course, boasts manicured emerald greens, play over water, and beautifully landscaped lagoons. Then again, there’s the sublime relaxation of long walks, quiet beach lounging, kayaking, yoga or stand-up paddleboard. Keep fit, be daring, or just chill out!
