British piano bar entertainer Martyn Lucas is performing in St. Maarten through the end of August at The Red Piano, located at the Simpson Bay Resort & Marina.
Born in 1969, Martyn Lucas grew up in a very musical family. His mother and father were both in the business, which enabled Martyn to get a passion for performing from an early age. By the age of 16, Martyn had won several piano competitions and was recognized as an accomplished musician. He had also trained and performed at the prestigious Dartington College of Arts in Devon, England. After leaving college, he became a professional solo singer, working mainly in the South West of England.
Theatre credits include “Noyes Fludde,” “The Music Man,” “Christmas Cat & The Pudding Pirates” and a variety of others. Martyn also toured throughout Europe, appearing at Euro Disney in Paris with his own solo show. It was while touring that Martyn discovered his unique talent for impersonating such stars as Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Pavarotti, Neil Diamond, Michael Crawford and Sir Cliff Richard. It was these very impressions that won him a place on the ITV series “Stars in Their Eyes.”
Martyn was very privileged to perform as the “Phantom of the Opera” in London’s Covent Garden, Live on Channel 4. Martyn has also produced several acclaimed shows — “One Night In Vegas,” “One Night in Christmas” and “One Night with the Piano Men.”
Catch his act Tuesdays through Sundays beginning at 8 p.m.
