Caribbean House Evolution Festival
By Tristan Ralston on 3rd July, 2019
Later this month the Caribbean House Evolution Festival will bring good vibes and happy beats to Turks & Caicos. Taking place on the island of Providenciales from July 18-21, it is the must-attend event for music lovers visiting the island.
Dedicated to art and community, Caribbean House Evolution celebrates friends, vacations, house music and the end of the tourist season on the island. Founded by house music lover, Johnny Legend, the festival was first held in 2013 and has fast become one of the most anticipated music events on the Island.
A place where locals and visitors alike can take part in the happy beats of house music and be themselves in all their diversity. A destination festival for house music lovers around the world and a space where local and international DJ’s come together and take part in a musical experience. Caribbean House Evolution is firmly on the world map, making Turks and Caicos a destination for house music lovers.
If you are planning a visit to Providenciales in July, put the dates in your diary right now. This annual 4-day festival is not to be missed. Headlining for 2019 the festival welcomes DJ Rashida who is tour DJ for Bruno Mars and who played with Prince for over 10 years, as well as LA-based DJ and Producer Silky who played alongside the ‘Godfather of house music’ Frankie Knuckles and from London, music connoisseur and celebrity favourite DJ Munro.
Idyllic beaches and luxury resorts provide the backdrop to this fully inclusive and immersive festival for house music lovers with both free and paid for events. Enjoy the Sunset Mix at Gracebay Club with sea views or party until the early hours at Sandbox. Unwind with Yoga and Brunch for the festivals fundraiser day-party at Somewhere Cafe and Lounge or get dressed to impress for a fine dining experience with live DJ set at Wymara Resort & Villas. The main event takes place on the private Island of Water Cay for the ultimate Island Beach & Boat Party on the final day. Chartered boats set sail from midday for a day like no other. Dance floors in the sea, unicorns and only good vibes as you make life long memories and newfound friends as you party and dance to the happy beats of Caribbean House Evolution. This event welcomes all private boat owners to come with their guests and join the event for free.
We talked to the Founder, Johnny Legend, for the scoop on what we can expect for 2019 and for more on the DJ line up.
“This year is set to be bigger than ever with DJ’s flying in from LA, London and Ibiza. For me music makes all things possible. My festival has become a truly global affair and each year I am overwhelmed by the energy and magic that the festival brings to Provo. There is no place quite like it. If you love house music you will love Caribbean House Evolution. World class DJ’s, world-class beaches, world-class resorts and music to feed the soul.
Johnny goes on to say: “As someone who used music as an escape in my youth, I understand its healing powers. For this reason, I am proud to support the Edward Gartland Youth Centre, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empower teenagers and provide equal opportunity for all young people on the Island of Providenciales.”
