Art Galleries in Aruba

By Athena Varde on 27th October, 2025

On this island, color doesn’t just stay in the sunsets and the ocean; it shows up on walls, in galleries, and in small corners of the island. From murals painted on walls to tucked away in studios, art is part of the landscape here, reflecting the artists’ experiences and Aruba’s own culture. Public art projects and independent art galleries have grown steadily in recent years, making creativity a visible part of Aruba’s daily life.

One of the most well-known places to find local Aruban art is in the southern part of the island. Large and intricate murals cover the walls of buildings, representing the island’s culture, experiences, history, and everyday lives of its people. These masterpieces surround the Main Street in San Nicolas, and have been painted by several artists, local and international. The San Nicolas murals range from bold, colorful scenes to more subtle, thought-provoking pieces, each reflecting a unique perspective and story. It’s an open-air gallery surrounded by several restaurants and galleries, making it a great area to spend a couple of hours in.

Space 21

Also in San Nicolas is Space 21, an art gallery featuring smaller, locally created art pieces. The gallery is a vibrant spot, and the perfect place to look for souvenirs after spending a day in the island’s southern side. Visitors can find everything from paintings and sculptures to handcrafted jewelry, all created by Aruban artists.

Space 21 also hosts occasional exhibitions and workshops, giving both locals and tourists a chance to engage directly with the creative process. For those exploring beyond San Nicolas, smaller galleries and pop-up art spaces are scattered across the island, offering glimpses into Aruba’s diverse artistic community.

Artitudes Art Cafe

Close to Renaissance Marketplace is Artitudes Art Cafe. Artitudes started as a fun idea to create a space for artists in Aruba and has since evolved into the Art Cafe. Showcasing around 40 local artists, it features paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, and handcrafted items.

Beyond art, visitors can relax with specialty coffee while enjoying workshops or creating their own mini masterpieces. Open to any artist with passion and a positive attitude, Artitudes combines creativity, community, and coffee into a unique, welcoming experience.

Artists’ Co-Op

Formerly known as the Atelier, the Artists’ Co-Op sits inside the Paseo Harencia Mall. The art there consists of photography, resin, glass blowing, painting, and ceramics, all handcrafted by nine local artists. The store is owned and operated by each of the artists, making souvenirs authentic and local. Visitors can often meet the artists in the shop, giving them a chance to hear the stories behind each piece.

From delicate glasswork to bold paintings, every item reflects the island’s culture and craftsmanship. The Co-Op not only supports local creators but also offers travelers a meaningful way to bring a piece of Aruba home.

From the murals in San Nicolas to the tucked-away studios, cafés, and co-ops across the island, Aruba’s art scene is full of surprises. Each space has its own character, some bold and colorful, others quiet and thoughtful, but all of them share the same purpose: telling the island’s story. Exploring these spots isn’t just about browsing for something to take home; it’s about seeing Aruba through the eyes of the people who live there.
