Restaurant review: Bay Bistro, Providenciales Turks and Caicos

 

Chef Clive Whent

Clive Whent is the British chef behind both Bay Bistro Restaurant at Sibonné Hotel and the Kissing Fish Catering Company. With 20 years of experience on Provo, Clive is able to meet the most discerning diner’s expectations. He specializes in freshly caught seafood and meets local fishermen on the beach in front of the restaurant to inspect their daily catch. For the past ten years running, Clive’s conch dishes have won awards at the yearly Conch Festival. His enthusiasm for cooking stems from Westminster College in London. It was there that he learned the nuts and bolts of being a chef and was also told he needed to cut his long hair in order to graduate!

His love of both food and traveling means that his cooking is both regional and international. Clive continues to enjoy creating new recipes combining the freshest local ingredients in unique ways. His homemade ice cream is rapidly becoming the most popular on Island with 12 different flavors.


The Kissing Fish Catering Company (www.kissingfish.tc) is Clive’s chance to show off two of his favorite things — grilling food to order on the beach and dining under the stars with your feet in the sand. Kissing Fish Catering is available for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and the popular monthly Full Moon Party.
