The largest and most accessible of the caves along the northeast coast is Fontein, just south of Boca Prins. Indians were attracted to it because of its proximity to a flowing stream. The main section, about ten feet high, is a large hall. Most of the rock drawings are found on the roof. Likely inhabited by Indians as well, Quadirikiri is a short distance away. Concrete steps lead up to the main entrance. A single passage links three chambers of irregular shape. Openings in the roof provide natural light for the 500′ long cave, making it a perfect spot for picture-taking. The bats in residence are harmless.
