Indian Caves

Things to do in Aruba Indian CavesThe largest and most accessible of the caves along the northeast coast is Fontein, just south of Boca Prins. Indians were attracted to it because of its proximity to a flowing stream. The main section, about ten feet high, is a large hall. Most of the rock drawings are found on the roof. Likely inhabited by Indians as well, Quadirikiri is a short distance away. Concrete steps lead up to the main entrance. A single passage links three chambers of irregular shape. Openings in the roof provide natural light for the 500′ long cave, making it a perfect spot for picture-taking. The bats in residence are harmless.
